Hello and welcome to Judo Queensland!

Judo Queensland (JFAQ) is a not-for-profit organisation set up to support the sport of Judo.

Judo is an inexpensive, safe, dynamic contact sport, which is suitable for boys and girls, men and women. It promotes:

  • Self confidence
  • Strength
  • Stamina
  • Self-discipline
Our main goal is to develop and promote the Olympic Sport of Judo in Queensland as a way of leading a healthy life for the benefit of members, partners and the general community.

The benefits of Judo for children include fitness, flexibility, co-ordination, self-confidence and discipline. In addition Judo has no kicking or punching.  Judo is suitable for people with a range of disabilities, including visual impairment, cerebral palsy, downs syndrome, autism and hearing impairment. The syllabus is adapted to take account of what the player can achieve.

Because we are affiliated with the Judo Federation of Australia (JFA), we provide for both individuals and clubs to affiliate with us at the state level.

Our vision is: To be a self-sustaining association of clubs that is competitive in attracting members and providing training and education opportunities for its members to become healthy and confident contributers to their community.
